OUR CHAPTERS

Real change happens at the local level, with climate leaders speaking up about the issues most relevant to their communities and pushing their governments for ambitious climate plans.

European Chapter

This chapter, co-led by Maria Mendiluce, Sandrine Dixson-Declève, and Stientje van Veldoven.

In 2026, the Chapter is focused on building support for maintaining ambitious climate policy in the EU and to address the emerging regulatory environment that is seeing deregulation in the name of competitiveness. They intend do this by collecting concrete ideas and proof points for a SMARTer regulation agenda.

Nordic Chapter

This chapter, co-led by Katarina Wangler Björk, Tuuli Kaskinen, and Vanessa Butani.

In 2026, the Chapter is looking forward to building its membership, funding and opportunities to host events. They continue to support the larger European effort while accounting for the unique circumstances, successes, and obstacles of the Nordic region.

This chapter is co-led by Catherine McKenna and Jane McDonald.

In 2026, the Chapter is continuing work with the business community and civil society to build a shared voice for continued climate action in Canada. This group will also be tapping into its wider network to explore new ways to engage more women to talk about climate in their communities and to continue making the economic case for clean energy.

Canadian Chapter

Brazilian Chapter

This chapter co-led by Marina Grossi, Ana Toni, and Maria Mendiluce.

Coming off a busy 2025, which saw Brazil as the COP30 host and the Brazil WLOC Chapter deliver a suite of detailed recommendations to the Special Envoys leading the gender agenda, this Chapter is continuing to push COP outcomes and the Action Agenda in the lead up to COP31.

In 2026, the Chapter will engage closely with the Brazilian Ministry of Women and the Special Envoys to follow the evolution of the agendas, align the KPIs to be pursued, leveraging itself as a think tank and advocacy platform.

This Chapter is co-led by Sharan Burrow and Victoria McKenzie-McHarg.

In 2026, this Chapter will be hosting events throughout regional capitals, as well as linking into major events like COP31 (particularly pre-COP in the Pacific Islands) and the 2026 Women Deliver Conference. They will also be exploring ways to counter mis- and dis-information around emissions and energy transitions, which have become prevalent in parts of the country, through open dialogues to build community and collaboration.

Australian Chapter

American Chapter

This Chapter is co-led by Marcene Mitchell, Stacy Swann, Helen Mountford, and Kathy Baughman McLeod.
