London Climate Action Week 2025
June 21-29, 2025
Women Leading on Climate, hosted by Arup, held a meeting on the margins of London Climate Action Week to highlight progress across its regional chapters. Over 70 women gathered to reconnect and align, celebrate growth, and strengthen collective action.
The WLOC chapters are an opportunity to root our efforts in the unique realities of different countries and regions. These informal groupings are developing initiatives to influence and advance climate policy and bring women working in government, business and other areas of climate action together.
We heard from:
Ilona Szabó de Carvalho from the Brazil Chapter, about working on bringing important issues into the COP30 agenda.
Sharan Burrow from the Australia Chapter, about bringing together women across generations and communities to build on Australia’s climate action.
Catherine McKenna from the Canada Chapter, about how Canadian women climate leaders are fighting to keep mandatory disclosure on the agenda.
Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Steintje van Veldhoven, and María Mendiluce launched the Europe Chapter, with the goal of keeping the EU on track and leading on climate policy globally.
