COP31 #WeNeedToTalk Campaign

November 10, 2026

Around the world, women working on climate change – and feeling its impacts every day – are feeling more and more alone in their fight. That’s because media coverage on climate change is down nearly 40% worldwide in recent years, despite the climate crisis worsening. Yet, four in five people want their governments to do more - and the solutions are better and cheaper than ever before.

This COP31, Women Leading on Climate is breaking the silence and bringing all of our voices to Türkiye, asking leaders to put climate action back on the agenda.

Women Leading on Climate is starting a new campaign - #WeNeedToTalk - and we need your help to flood COP31 with our message that we need to put climate change back on the agenda, so we can act. Please join us by putting out a short video or the shareable below on your Instagram and/or LinkedIn.

  • We need to talk.

  • While the climate crisis worsens, its solutions are better, cheaper, cleaner than ever before. So why aren’t we talking about them?

  • In recent years, too many leaders [politicians, business leaders, media outlets - you could specify those relevant to you] have stopped talking about climate change, while weakening and abandoning their promises.

  • And yet we’re all seeing the impacts of climate change accelerating… [list examples close to home]

  • But there’s good news. Climate solutions are better, cleaner, and cheaper than ever before. I’m talking about [insert your favourite climate solution] whenever I can and wherever I can because… [explain how it’s helping]

  • Silence isn’t going to solve the climate crisis.

  • Women are speaking up… in boardrooms, in public, in their lives. Together. That’s why I’m joining Women Leading on Climate to say that we need to talk, not just at COP, but all year round.

  • Let’s put climate change back on the agenda

  • We need to talk. And then we need to act. Not just at COPs, but beyond.

The campaign starts on Tuesday, November 10. Use our hashtag #WeNeedToTalk, tag us @WomenLeadingOnClimate, and commit to talking about climate change, even when no one else is!
